Maximum city Mumbai is facing an unwanted maximum in the form of a heatwave that has been triggered by global warming and urbanisation. The ill-effects have amplified over the last decade and the results can be disastrous for the coastal city. The number of ‘extreme caution’ days when the temperature is between 32°C to 41°C have increased in the past few decades.
