sunday prayers: worship surya bhagwan today and chant these mantras

The Sun is eternal, and the energy derived from it is boundless. And the ball of fire that we see embodies Surya Devta (the Sun God). Interestingly, Surya represents the father figure, soul, splendour, education, knowledge and fame. Moreover, the Sun holds a commanding position in the Solar system because the planets revolve around it.Nonetheless, life without the Sun is unimaginable and therefore, it plays a pivotal role in sustaining creation. Therefore, many devotees pay tributes to the Sun God by performing Arghya (a thanksgiving gesture) during Sunrise. In addition, there are festivals like Chhath Puja that glorify the might and importance of the Sun God.For the unversed, Surya, also hailed as Aditya or Bhaskar, is one of the deities mentioned in the Rig Veda and is referred to as Apaurusheya, meaning those not created by man. And he is one of the Hindu Gods visible to the human eye. Moreover, Sunday or Raviwar is named after him. Therefore, this Sunday, pay tributes to the Sun God and seek his blessings by chanting the following Mantras.Surya Mantraनमः सूर्याय शान्ताय सर्वरोग निवारिणेआयु ररोग्य मैस्वैर्यं देहि देवः जगत्पतेNamah Suryaya Shantaya Sarvaroga NivaarineAyu rarogya maisvairyam dehi devah jagatpateSurya Gayatri Mantraॐ भास्कराय विद्महे महादुत्याथिकराया धीमहि तनमो आदित्य प्रचोदयात||Om Bhaskaray Vidmahe Mahadutyathikaraya Dheemahi Tanah Surya Prachodayatॐ सप्त-तुरंगाय विद्महे सहस्र-किरणाय धीमहि तन्नो रविः प्रचोदयात्Om Sapt Turangay Vidhmahe Sahasra Kirnay Dheemahi Tanno Ravi PrachodyatAs per one of the legends, Surya Devta was born to Sage Kashyapa and Aditi on the Saptami Tithi of Magh, Shukla Paksha. His half-brother, Aruna, drives his chariot endowed with twelve wheels and seven horses. The twelve wheels represent each Zodiac sign that the Sun covers annually, and the seven horses symbolise the seven colours of the rainbow. And according to another tradition, the seven horses signify the seven days of the week.
