A massive underwater volcano, Axial Seamount, 300 miles off Oregon’s coast, may erupt soon after over 1,000 daily quakes and seafloor uplift signal rising magma. Sitting 4,626 feet deep, it last erupted in 2015. Though powerful, experts say the eruption poses no threat to humans or the nearby Cascadia Subduction Zone.
