Norway Chess 2025 Tournament Updates: Gukesh, who was beaten by Magnus last evening, once again succumbed to a loss against fellow Indian Arjun Erigaisi in the second round on Tuesday. Carlsen, too, lost his game against Hikaru Nakamura, culminating a stunning series of results in an action-packed evening.
Gukesh found himself being troubled by Erigaisi early and committing mistakes as time ran out. Erigaisi finally defeated Gukesh in 62 moves, forcing his opponent to resign after giving him a check with his knight.
Gukesh will play American Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura, while Erigaisi, on 4.5 points after two games, will take on another American, Fabiano Caruana.
