Asteroid 2024 YR4, roughly the size of a 15-story building, has a slim chance of striking the Moon in 2032, potentially creating a half-mile crater, the largest in 5,000 years, per a study from the University of Western Ontario and Athabasca University. Observed by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, the asteroid could eject lunar debris.
