The combination of festive season discounts and price cuts under the new GST regime appears to have boosted demand for cars and SUVs in India. On the first day of Navratri 2025, Maruti Suzuki delivered over 25,000 cars and expects to cross the 30,000 mark soon.
A similar trend can be seen at Tata Motors. The company reported delivering more than 10,000 cars on the first day of Navratri and receiving over 25,000 enquiries. Hyundai recorded more than 11,000 dealer bookings, describing it as its best single-day performance in the last five years.
