Delhi News LIVE: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday is set to launch two welfare schemes for Delhi residents, a free mobility card for women and free LPG cylinders for families holding ration cards.
The President will formally launch the Pink National Common Mobility Card, which will allow women in Delhi to travel free on buses across the city. The card is designed as a smart card that gives seamless access to multiple public transport systems through a single swipe.
Murmu will launch both schemes at an event titled 'Sashakt Nari, Samriddh Delhi' at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. The event has been organised by the Department of Women and Child Development.
At the same event, the President will also launch a scheme to provide two free LPG cylinders every year to all ration card-holding families in Delhi. The cylinders will be given on the occasions of Holi and Diwali.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the benefit under the LPG scheme will be transferred directly to beneficiaries through the direct benefit transfer mode.
